As an organization, the Boys & Girls Club is flexible, creative, and responsive to our community’s needs. For example, they have gone above and beyond during the recent pandemic to ensure that our most vulnerable students have access to high-quality care and supervision. During the summer of 2020, they followed strict safety guidelines and were able to successfully run their program without incident. Children could be seen happily interacting with one another and engaging with staff throughout the day. They organized creative projects to keep kids excited and learning. Given the highly stressful context of the year, it was a welcome relief and joy to hear and see children playing and laughing. And, as we plan for reopening this fall on an online platform, the Boys & Girls Club has been here to support us. They have worked alongside us to design a program that continues to serve our students while maintaining rigorous safety standards set forth by the State
