It’s 3 PM and the school bell just rang. Did you know that 15 million kids are leaving school with no place to go?
As our community prepares for back-to-school, we want to ensure that out-of-school time is part of the conversation. What happens during the hours between school and home can have a dramatic impact on a child’s future. By providing access to positive and productive programs, as well as caring adult mentors, Boys & Girls Clubs can help reverse the most negative trends facing our youth.
At 3:00 PM on July 31st, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Rogue Valley joined Boys & Girls Clubs of America in spreading the word of the Great Futures Campaign – an unprecedented initiative to mobilize our country around the issues facing America’s youth.
If you drove across the bridge on 7th in Grants Pass, down W Valley View Rd in Talent or on Redwood Highway in Cave Junction, you wouldn’t have been able to miss our Club Members – proudly waving their signs that read “Honk if you love the Club,” “It’s 3:00 PM and I’m Safe,” “BGC 4 Life,” and many other positive messages about the Boys & Girls Club.
As an organization, we are very excited about this Campaign. It is our job to keep the children in our community safe and we hope that you will join us as we continue to serve our youth!
WHEN SCHOOL’S OUT, CLUBS ARE IN!
