Shaping Up with Triple Play

Triple Play is one of our favorite programs at the Talent Club!

Improving our kids’ overall health and wellness is one of our biggest goals. Every day at our Clubs we strive to teach the importance of good nutrition, physical activity and healthy relationships. With Triple Play, these values are instilled while the kids just think they’re having fun! The Triple Play program is a National Boys & Girls Club program focusing on three main components: Mind, Body and Soul. Here are some photos from our Talent Club from each area:

MIND: Teaching healthy habits – such as making smart food choices, understanding appropriate portion sizes and creating fun, balanced meals. Some parents mentioned their kids now ask for different snack foods at home, like green smoothies and hummus!

BODY: Promoting physically activity through fun daily fitness routines – such as Boot Camp Challenge, Basketball Challenge and Get Fit Challenge (just a few of our kids’ favorites!). These activities go beyond just playing dodge ball or running around the playground.

SOUL: Strengthening interpersonal skills, positive behavior and good character – such as game room tournaments (good sportsmanship), trash walks and volunteering at the Jackson County Fuel Coalition (good character and citizenship).
